Mark, I'm so embarrassed! I saw you at Mick's like 6 months ago and couldn't remember where I knew you from. As soon as I started planning the reunion and started flipping through my yearbook I got to page 16 and went "Dang! That's who that was! I should have talked to him." And seriously, when Nani dumps you, call me! Best Friends Forever! Steph

Mark, I offer you this excerpt from Mr Nash's Greatest Hits Volume 1 (the fourth period monologues)
"zip zap zooey, sweet hipty doo"
....MAN, he cracked me up, half the time I could never understand a single word out of Mr Nash's mouth. I think jay ladum did some of the best impressions of him ever. I used to marvel at some of the things he'd (Nash) say, I used to just laugh and turn around to Caviezel to see what his reaction was and he'd just smile and shake his head in bewilderment.
I guess it's safe to say I was perpetually Lost in translation.

Rawk On
Have an aweZome summer, DON'T CHANGE Man!

Hey guys! Sounds like you are still keeping that romantic fire burning-that's hot! Anyways, Have a totally awesome summer and remember 87 f#%@in' rulz! Do you recall the "tastes great", "less filling" chants we used to scream back and forth to the other classes at the assemblies?

Hello Mark!

I recall Freshman year in P.E. you commented on how you hated how hairy your legs were. So I suggested that you just shave them. You said no way- that they'll just grow back thicker and darker.

Why I can remeber that and not much else I have no idea.

'87 Rulz!

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Brian-You have a great memory! I think he would let us out of 7th period early by playing hangman. The word he chose was usually a brand of beer.

Jay- Thanks for reminding me about that. I still think that!

Louie- Thanks for the invite! I usually make it a point to never to go shoppiing with Nani. That is a major rule to a long relationship.

Jinky- Ok so i am that way all the time! You and nani can go to the beach anytime! Just bring the KIDS.

Have a rad summer! Maybe i will see you at Alki in your SAAB.

Keep the comments coming!

Kris Maudslien says he's not going to the reunion. But I talked to Rikke and she says "Probably". Mark, I'm counting on you and Nani....you know what to do.

Mark
Say hi to Nani for me. I knew the relationship had a chance when you guys not only survived the 360's in the Corvette but also the lashing from your dad. I still can't believe we all thought maybe he wouldn't notice if it was washed well enough. Were you ever allowed to drive that car again? See you in August. '87 Rulz!

I know where you live! I can make things happen! I have done it before! I have the power! Oh yes....you will be mine! There is no stoping me!

This is for everyone who reads but doest sign my yearbook!

I will buy anyone a beer that signs my yearbook! Or I will get Nani to give you a hug! Please choose the beer (it will be cheaper for me).

Ok slackers! I have put it out there. I am now tying to buy freinds! Do you have what it takes?

If this doesnt work i will go to nani's reunion instead! There will probably be some brave people there.

TEF said...

Mark - You can borrow some of my meds, they are probably better than what Nani is slipping into your beer anyway.

I'll expect my beer in August.
Cheers!

Stephanie said...

I really hate beer, can I just have the hug?

Anonymous said...

Ok,

This is some good stuff!

I would like to say sorry to Nani for dragging her into my blog habbit! She is a good sport!
As far as the Meds go! I left them in high school. I just choose to act like a kid most of the time! Life is serious enough. I enjoy making people laugh (with me or at me).

Scott-I will buy you two beers! The check is in the mail for those nice comments! I pretty much stick to the SUV style these days. Although i do feel the need for speed!

Stephanie- Do you want to hug me or Nani? Or both? At the same time?
Hmmmmmm....

Keep it comin people! I've got more!

A cool wave and a good buzz! Thats all i need! 87 is killer!

Anonymous said...

John,

Good to hear from you! I left some money in your area last summer! speeding ticket!

Crashing the Vett is something I will never forget! Bryce brought that story up at my wedding in front of my dad and everybody! It was good for a laugh. The funny part was that my dad's freind was laughing at me but my dad ended up selling him the car!

I tell people about that story when they ask how i ended up with nani. It wasn't my looks or anything like that. I scared the sht out of her. She had no choice!

49th rocks!

John, I ran into some old kids from the block the other day!

Keith and Debbie Webster! I also still see Sue and John Fischer, Sean Bannon and Jeff Faulk.

Stephanie said...

Yes.

I think that I need to have the Terrana family over for a BBQ before the reunion. We can invite my neighbors the Maudsliens, they're kinda' cool. I think you'd like them.

Wendy (Wozniak) Richards said...

Mark,
Although I'm sure we had classes together, I can't recall which ones for the life of me. Sorry, I'm no Brian Fischer;) Most of it is really just a blur now! What I do remember was that Mr. Kostecka scared the crap out of me and Ballantyne cracked me up. Thinking about high school... and suddenly I feel like I should be drinking a wine cooler at Lincoln Park. Crazy Days!!!

Summer break rocks and '87 rules!

My goal at kennedy!

My personal goal going into kennedy was to get through as easy as possible. I was only going to take the min amount of classes possible. I got all my requirments out of the way quickly. Knowing that collage was not for me i skated on those types of classes. My senior year was all about art, teachers assistant and weight lifting plus a free period. I truly think i had the easiest senior year! I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. I didnt even take the SAT's! Somehow i have made it this far!(please dnt check my spelling). Now that my kids are in school i realize how much i have forgotten. I think i will go back through it like Adam Sandler in Billy Madison. I think this time i will spend more time in high school. If i only new then what i know now! Maybe i can move back home too!!!!

nineteen eighty seven is massive!

Thanks for signing in! Where are the early contributors? Have they forgotten how to blog? REMEMBER i have ways to make things happen!

I was just wondering what ever happened to Jeff Baskett? It is my goal to meet him since I have heard so many great things about him and never ever talked to him in school.

I don't think that you made a bad choice in school Mark, I had to go to night school after highschool to take typing because I had wasted my time with French and Physics. Those two didn't help me get a job at all.

Anonymous said...

OK Terrana, I finnaly got you beat on something.
1st period: Free
2nd period: Community Service (only had to show up on Tuesdays to turn in work sheets)
3rd Period: Current Events (with Nash, nuff said)
4th period: Modern Lit. (McBride, the only real class)
5th period: LUNCH
6th period: Free
7th period: Band
You wanna talk about slacking!Tyler Rickdahl and I spent more time at his house watching movies, practicing for our "Band", eating spaghetteos and chocolate milk and riding mini-bikes than we actually did on campus. If only life could be more like Senior year.

Anonymous said...

WOW! I guess i am wrong! Thats sweet! Although I think Band is tougher than Art class! I also had Tom Muckerheide for Mass Media. We got extra credit for going to Vallyball games.Thats why Tom was my favorite teacher. I think maybe i made the top five in the slacker catagory.

Hmmmmm..... Mass media! That reminds me of a story. We were suppose to make a radio commercial so we went to Marc Warners house to record our masterpeice. Of course we brought a case of beer for insperation. Marc said it would be cool because his mom would not be home. After drinking most of the beer we decided to put the empties in the car. Sure enough we are in Marc's kitchen with a beer each when mom comes home. COLD BUSTED!! She says "Beer and pizza"! We were lucky that we hid the empties. Our commercial was for TERRANA BANANA Wine Coolers! I am still waiting for that idea to hit!

As far as Jeff Baskett goes-

I remember at one party he over did it a little. He was getting sick and i was there to give him a ton of sht about it. Turns out a few weeks later i am the one overdoing it and guess who's there to let me have it. I dont know if i ever got the chance to say "you got me good"! If he remembers ive been living with that for 20 years! Nani reminds me once and a while.

This blog is like fishing! I put out the bait and caught paul! Time to reel in Mr Baskett! Here fishy fishy!

You are know Ken Barrea!

I told you guys i can make things happen. I told everybody nicely! I happen to know that Ken is an avid reader of this blog but refuses to sign my yearbook. Ken, post something in the next 48 hours or i can't be held responsible for the unfortunate events that will happen. Watch out for ladders, black cats and banana peals! Also watch out for white hair behind the wheel of a car! They are all part of my evil empire!

Marky mark…what's up? Why you want to spread your curses and hexes on me? You know they wont work on a fellow Italian! So, I hear I've been called out on the blog for just lurking…BUSTED! True, I've popped in and out of the blog a few times, but I prefer to limit my web surfing to what the internet's true purpose is…Free Porn! By the way, I hear Nani is being nominated for Sainthood for her unusually high level of patience! Take care, Ken.

Hey, that's one of my favorite web sites. I go there often. It's got some very interesting material from the last geardriver's show (that's my bait to see if I can catch a very limited few who are in the know)
Anyhow, keep up the humor up since apparently without the pills you're having trouble keeping other things ...uh, well, never mind...that's just another reason Nani should be a Saint!

We were all doing so well at not crossing that fine line. I think you know what I mean Duck. I'm not pointing any fingers, I'm just saying... and I'll believe you if you say that Mike made you do it.

Check is in the mail Louie! Mark, you have a little left toe nail only a Saint could love! I've been told that I must have blocked out much of my high school experience, because I have no memory of who Mr Ruffo is...one of the contributing editors on

told me he's a teacher at JFK. I found another interesting piece of info on our favorite site...in reference to bloggers, it says in clear and simple smartassese that "...absolutely under no circumstance shall 'The Line' not be crossed..."

I was just trying to get people involved. Maybe i will log onto
WWW.MIKEMcCULLOUGH.MADE.ME.DO.IT.COM and find out who else is reading.

Okay Mark you made me do it. It seems that you have left memorable marks, not only at my house, but other places also. Was there a drink that you could hold down? Maybe since age has approuched us, you probably should stick to your wine.
What is odd to me, is that we all thought we all moved away from one another and we all actually live in the same area, small world. Even if I only see you and Nani at baseball games. (That reminds me what is up w/your coach? I think he needs your meds. I herd you had some words towards the Pirates as well. What about the kids? I hope it wasn't true, because it doesn't go w/your MO.)
Anywho, it is true what people say. You two were ment to be together and you both bring the best out in others when you two are around. Sweet as pie, or maybe Nani's choice, California Coolers.
87 rulz, see ya at the 20.

P.S. And you thought you weren't a popular guy in highschool.

Patty Hernandez

Anonymous said...

Patty's parties rocked! And it was one time that I lost my lunch! REALLY!! One time!! By the way thanks for those good memories.

As far as the baseball thing goes it wasn't me. I dont speak unless spoken to. I did laugh a little though. You need to when grown ups act like kids. Our coach is verrry sorrry!

Patty, I'm serious, you and John are on the Seahawks list this year.

Any popularity I had/have is due to Nani. I introduce myself as Nani's husban. Then people know who i am. But!! My kids think I'm cool. (FOR NOW!!)

Louie Parent said...

Mark, you were always cool. You're freaking Italian. Who doesn't love an Italian? And then you married a Hawaiian. Who doesn't love a Hawaiian?

Two of my favorite places to visit, Italy and Hawaii.

You two are so cool. You rule even though your kids don't think so.

That's my official signing of your yearbook.

Mellaney M said...

I agree with Louie, Hawaii and Italy are my two most favorite places also - So I think you've done something right!

Mark - you were always a cool dude even in middle school! Remember the BBQ/Picnics I would have on the last day of school down at Lincoln Park?

Anyways - Have a great Summer and TTFN!
Take Care,

Louie, "Grazi!" "And much Aloha to you!!"

I have a freind who would bring Nani and I gifts. He would knock on our door and run. When we opened the door there would be a Boboli pizza crust and a Pineapple.

Mellaney, Please forgive my memory! I do remember the Lincoln Park picnic (a little). That was a long time ago! I was a dork back then. We had a good group come out of that class. I have seen the pic with some of the people on it! I can only remember a few. We have had some of those Denny alums leave comments here! Small World!!

Dear Mr Terrana,

In spite of questionable scholarly performances over the past year, and your diciplinary record through out your time in our hallowed halls of the mighty J.F.K... The dean of studies has seen fit to award you a diploma. It is against my better judgment, however, I'm not sure the teachers can handle you one more year. (thanks to you and the rest of your class) We had one sister go through a complete mental break down....I had to send to two teachers to alcohol treatment programs. I will be watching the media for you in the coming years...it won't suprise me one bit if you end up in prison.....do try to have a nice summer,

Mr. Waltner, Dean of Discipline.

As far as sisters mental breakdown goes! Who couldn't see that coming! And the drinking teachers? Well lets just say there was more than two! If i had somthing to do with that...then thats just icing on the cake! God love ya!

Enjoy the next 20!! "87 catch the wave"!!!!

Mark,

I have to say that this blog has kept me very entertained, as you did in school. The interesting part is that while you were distracting in class in high school, this blog is distracting me from studying for finals for college! Do some things never change? I have to admit that I fell of the earth when it came to high school friends, it is awesome to read about those friendships that have lasted for more than 20 years!! It says a lot about you....
